A report on Yalli – a masterpiece of Azerbaijani folk dance, safeguarded by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage, was adopted by UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee members

During the 18th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Kasane, Botswana the report on 'Yalli (Kochari, Tenzere) traditional group dances of Nakchivan' has been adopted by the Committee Members.
Yalli is a group of traditional dances practised by communities and based exclusively on collective performance of practitioners.
Yalli represents a part of intangible cultural heritage and a marker of identity, cultural belonging of Azerbaijani people.
